Facebook Purity is a simple Greasemonkey script that cleans up your Facebook profile page by removing certain types of notifications.
Once installed on your system, Facebook Purity adds a small line on top of your Facebook profile with links to hide app notifications and other extra elements from your wall. There’s also a link to the script’s configuration options.
These options enable you to choose exactly which type of stories you don’t want to see on your Facebook profile: people making friends with each other, becoming fans of pages, joining groups, creating or attending events, leaving comments anywhere, etc.
Facebook Purity also lets you create an app whitelist to allow certain Facebook applications to appear on your profile, as well as define a filter to hide specific text from your wall. Other options in Facebook Purity can hide the boxes on the right side of your Facebook profile, like the Suggestions , the Sponsored box or the Get Connected box.
Facebook Purity works fine and does what it says on the tin, but somehow I expected it to have more options to clean up and customize Facebook – and not just hide elements from the timeline.
With Facebook Purity you can easily get a much cleaner timeline on Facebook by removing undesired notifications from your profile.
